The day-to-day operations of Curtis Media Group’s broadcast and Internet assets are managed by Phil Zachary. A 30-year industry veteran, Phil joined CMG in January, 2002 from Infinity Broadcasting in Washington, DC where he managed that company’s rock stations, WHFS and WARW, and also served as market manager. Prior to that, Phil was VP/GM of WRDU and WTRG in Raleigh. He’s also managed stations in Charleston, SC and New Orleans, LA.

Phil began his career as a newscaster and disc jockey and progressed to programming positions in Providence, Boston and Cincinnati before moving into senior management. His love for local personality radio is at the core of Curtis Media’s fundamental programming philosophy: namely, that what comes out of the speakers should be the best possible product our resources will allow.

Phil serves on the North Carolina Children's Hospital Board of Visitors and the Board of Advisors for the Wake County Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee for the Future of Wake County and the Wake County Public School System's Business Alliance. Phil was named the radio industry's "Market Manager of the Year" in 2004 and was also recipient of the Maryland/DC/Delaware Broadcasters' "Citizen of the Year" award in 2001.

In March, 2007 Phil was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Curtis Media Group.
